The Paid Dating Chat

 “So, how do spend yours?” Two young girls were talking amongst each other. “Oh, you know, this and that. Recently I got quite a lot so I’m trying to save some,” said the younger looking of the two. “Oh, really, are you going to travel, or something like that?” Asked the slightly older looking one. “Hm, maybe. I was mostly thinking, we’re only going to be popular at this age, so maybe I shouldn’t spend it all,” the conversation continued. “That’s pretty smart actually. I think I’ll do the same. Also, if I buy anything too big or fancy, my parents will definitely wonder where I got the money from,” continued the older girl. “True, I definitely don’t want to have to talk to my mum about this. She’d get so mad, no way she’s understand or trust me when I say I’m only talking to them. Like, I’d never go to a hotel, we’re just talking.” The younger girl was getting quite passionate as she said this. I would like to believe that she was in fact only lending her ear to a lonely older gentleman.

The older looking girl just nodded at this, as if she completely understood how her friend felt. “I think it’s really good to save some, but I might buy myself a little something, like some kind of accessory which I can hide away. Or maybe one of those little Chanel purses, they are SO CUTE!” At this point I wasn’t sure which girl was talking, but they suddenly got very excited about the Chanel purse. Phones were brought out and for the next ten to fifteen minutes they looked at the screen together and compared bags and purses, trying to decide which was the cutest.

 

*Paid dating is quite a common practice, and I am not here to cast any kind of judgement or voice my opinion on it, especially as it’s quite a complicated and sensitive topic. I simply enjoyed overhearing two younger women talking about being financially responsible with their earnings, saving away a little for the future. I hope they were also able to treat themselves to something small.
